Community Foundation of Henderson County is pleased to announce the appointment of three new members to their Board of Directors following their election at the organization’s August 5th board meeting. Joining Community Foundation’s Board of Directors are Ken Adams, Ruth Birge, and Eric Gash.
- Community Foundation and United Way Express Appreciation for Henderson County COVID-19 Response Fund Donors
Community Foundation of Henderson County and United Way of Henderson County, along with many other local nonprofits, are working to serve the community during these unforeseen and challenging times. This work would not be possible without the support of generous donors, and they wish to express sincere appreciation to those who have contributed to the Henderson County COVID-19 Response Fund. To date, the Fund has distributed almost $274,000 to local nonprofits on the frontlines of the pandemic.
- COVID-19 Response Grants Making Impact in Henderson County
Grants from United Way and Community Foundation’s Henderson County COVID-19 Response Fund have been supporting essential services for economically vulnerable populations during these challenging times. A weekly drive-through of free diapers and formula pick-up, mental health services for local children and youth, rent and utility assistance and weekly food deliveries to homebound seniors are just a few of the important services being funded from the COVID-19 Response Fund.
- Community Grants Program Awards More Than $200,000
Community Foundation of Henderson County has recently awarded $248,500 in Community Grants to 11 local nonprofits bringing the total grant awards for the Community Grants Program for Fiscal Year 2019-20 to $425,515.
- United Way and Community Foundation Announce Additional $53,500 in Grants Awarded from Henderson County COVID-19 Response Fund
Grants were awarded Thursday morning to seven organizations, totaling $53,500. This brings total distributions from the fund to $228,540 for 31 organizations since the fund was first established on March 20. To date, the fund has raised nearly $330,000.
- Community Foundation of Henderson County Awards $500,000 for 2020-21 Scholarships

Community Foundation of Henderson County is pleased to announce the scholarship recipients for the 2020-21 school year. This year, $500,025 is being awarded to help advance local students’ higher education. The Foundation awarded 104 new scholarships to 99 students totaling $188,825 and 128 scholarship renewals totaling $311,200.
- Wells Fargo Foundation Supports COVID-19 Response Fund
Thanks to a gift from Wells Fargo Foundation, the Henderson County COVID-19 Response Fund total is now more than $300,000.
