The Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Breakfast Fund was established to promote understanding, collaboration and unity between all members of the Henderson County community by supporting the annual MLK, Jr. Unity Breakfast.
This year, our theme is “Service”, and our speaker is DeShannon Bynum Dixon.
DeShannon Bynum Dixon was born in Fort Payne, Alabama, moving to Hendersonville at the age of 10. She is the youngest of 3 children born to the late Pastor Hoyt and the late Rev. Naomi Bynum. Educated in North Carolina she hold multiple degrees and certifications. Professionally she is a C-level Executive holding the titles of Vice President, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer, a published author, an Executive Leadership, Life and Career Coach and she has a Executive Finishing School where she teaches recents graduates how to navigate life in Corporate America. She is comedic writer for the card game “Black Card Revoked”; a talk show host on 2 networks: The Hope TV and Gurrllll TV and a few other things that would take all day to list. DeShannon meets no strangers, she uses her life coaching skills, business acumen, her foundational faith mixed with southern charm to bring up and out the best of all who encounter her.
The Unity Breakfast celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision by bringing the community together to reflect on his legacy and recognize those who embody his commitment to unity and service.
