William L. Arbuckle Memorial Scholarship

The Pisgah Chapter of Trout Unlimited is dedicated to preserving coldwater fisheries. The Chapter serves Henderson, Transylvania and Polk Counties. Chartered in 1969, the Chapter has dedicated more than 45 years to cold water conservation. The Chapter began with only 29 members, but has since grown to more than 300.

The Pisgah Chapter of Trout Unlimited William L. Arbuckle Memorial Scholarship, a component fund of Community Foundation of Henderson County is named in memory of William “Bill” L. Arbuckle, a former Trout Unlimited Director and active member of the Chapter. Mr. Arbuckle contributed much of his time, talent and resources to the success of the Chapter. He is sorely missed by his many friends and fishing buddies but his memory lives on through the establishment of this award. Read more about the extraordinary life of Bill Arbuckle and how his memory lives on through this scholarship in our 2023 Annual Report.
